It's still Sunday, right? It's been Sunday for several days, or so it feels. Holidays on Mondays always throw me off... alas it's Tuesday. A lovely day in Astoria, to boot!
Blue skies, a slight breeze and the sun beaming down on the water. Just lovely.

I'll be back...

...like the Terminator, I'll be back.

I've been off the air for the last 3 weeks, and I wonder if you've noticed, hrm? I'm actually somewhat delirious from drugs right now, thanks to a nasty bout of strep throat and a sexy sinus infection. I'm sure my 14 day in a row work schedule I allowed myself didn't help the cause. Note to self.
I loathe being ill. I seriously hate it, it stops everything from moving forward. Stagnation makes me uncomfortable. So when I'm sick, when I'm not tuckered out sleeping, I'm learning how to be still and be okay with it. Essentially, it's probably a good thing, but I do it kicking and screaming.

Whoa... heavy. Let's get back to music before I find the meaning of life, er something.

So last week I asked a fellow programmer to sub for me and I hope you tuned in and enjoyed. Gregg has a very eclectic and amazing interest in music and I knew he'd be perfect for the spot. If you tuned in and are curious as to what was played, here's the playlist:

06/21/11 playlist:

Explode Into Colors* “Heat” from Quilts EP, 2010
Mashwerk “Inner Space”, 2006
Instituto Mexicano del Sonido “Sinfonia Agridulce” from Soy Sauce, 2009
Epsilons “Problems” from Killed 'Em Deader 'n a Six Card Poker Hand, 2007
Zachary Cale* “All To Order” from Noise Of Welcome, 2011
Ros Sereysothea “Chnam Oun Dop Prum Muoy (I'm Sixteen)”
Dustin Aaron Scharlach* “Teens & 'Dults” from Acting Lessons, 2008
Arrington de Dionyso's Malaikat dan Singa* “Wadah Rohani” from Suara Naga, 2011
DJ Zebra “Roxanne Should Be Dancing”, 2008
The Fall “Slates, Slags, Etc.” from Slates, 1981
Casiotone For The Painfully Alone “Streets of Philadelphia (With Concern)” from PIAPTK Sampler 2009-2010, 2007
Sustentacula* “It Is Our Wish” from Salem: City Of Peace, 2010
Can “She Brings the Rain” from Soundtracks, 1970

* denotes presence of old bandmates/collaborators

Thanks again, Gregg! And def tune in to Gregg's show on KMUN via coastradio.org or 91.9fm if you're local.
Saturdays Midnight-2 AM: And Otherness with Gregg Skloff
Also, I should mention that Gregg is super freaking talented. He's one of those people that perplexes me with his presence in tiny Astoria. Check out some of his wicked (and I don't mean that in the current hip use of the word, but wicked as in like super brilliant) work here on Soundcloud:

That cat knows his sh*t.

I leave you now, nauseous from antibiotics, a lovely cold sore to boot, and feeling a bit like Igor... with a song from Shabazz Palaces... who have a new release out on Sub Pop today! Love it.

Be well and love one another. Seriously.

Amy on the meds.
